Chylds Hall Model Shipyard produces a small, but expanding range of 1/48th scale (quarter inch to the foot) model boat hulls and associated fittings. These are aimed at reasonably competent enthusiasts who enjoy the challenge of building the model themselves and have some experience in scratch building.

Our products are an extension of the owner’s own model-making hobby and his interest in vessels of the 19th and early 20th century. As a business we are best described as a cottage industry, manufacturing most of the components ourselves. When you purchase hulls or fittings from us you are buying something quite individual.

Do not expect to see lots of them about.
